sweetest thing

The weekend before Valentines Day was jam-packed with festivities. These are the boxes Sarah and Emma made during the Homeschooling Valentine party. 22 kids --not a bad turn out! A little chaotic during the valentine exchange. Our host provided cheese fondue with breads and chocolate fondue with strawberries for us Moms.

Also before Valentines day was the county-wide Daddy Daughter Dance that Gene took Sarah to. The dance was open to the public for girls 3-15 and their Dad (or surrogate). Sarah was looking forward to it for weeks. I mean, what 5 year old girl wouldn't want to dress up like a princess for a dance with their Daddy?? We took her shopping for a special dress and then did her hair fancy in the back. Gene presented her with a rose just before they left.
Sarah said "Oh Daddy! That's so romantic. Thank you."
She gets this from watching Anastasia and Cinderella.

The world's greatest Dad with the world's sweetest girl!

At the daddy-daughter dance. Sarah with her friend, Junie, from our homeschooling group.

Gene said there were 150 Dad's easy plus a couple hundred girls. Good turn out! They had a lot of fun -played games and had punch and cookies. Then he took her out to dinner at IHOP.

It absolutely warmed my heart and made me fall deeper in love with Gene to see him doing this with Sarah! I hope it is something she will always remember. I think it's an annual thing and next year he'll be able to take Emma as well. You guys are the sweetest things!
