fall fun

Oh, how I love this time of year!! The colors...the smells...the sounds... all contribute to my feeling "Norman Rockwell-esque" inside, and this past week has been fraught with moments right out of some of his paintings.

My friend, Julie, and her boys were in town and came by to visit for the day. We made the kids lunch and then visited while they played Mario Cart on the Wii and the little ones ran around playing and getting into mischief. Then we made Halloween sugar cookies and let each child frost & decorate their own cookies. Jared especially loved this idea (at first) and gave his cookie three times as much frosting as the cookie itself, but after a few bites had a sick look on his face and couldn't finish it.

Then, in order to burn off their sugar-high, we sent the kids outside to run around and play. This part especially reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting. It was so beautiful and colorful outside and so fun to see the kids running and climbing and diving in it all! And now, thanks to Julie, this week will be filled with fun Halloween meals and treats, as found on this site, that she turned me onto.

How cute is this? Very sweet of Jacob to swing with my 2 year old, Morgan!

What are fall leaves for if not to throw at a cute girl? This is Sarah & Jared with Jacob and Joseph in the background.

Joseph and James so happy tossing the leaves.

Time for everybody to jump in the big pile...

Cute boys: Jared, James and Joseph!!!

Thanks, Rebecca, I think my kids are adorable too! My camera is a Nikon D40--a very user friendly & basic high-end camera...well, low end of the high end cameras. It is digital and does both automatic "point and shoot" and manual. I'm very happy with it and they've come down in price recently.
